“You are definitely in love,” my sister states matter of fact.
“I care about him, a lot okay?”
“No, you love him. I can totally see why, that man is a masterpiece. If you don’t want him, I would love to have a round with him,” Liz says shocking the shit out of me.
“WHAT? NO! You’re fifteen, you better not be having sex,” I state and then turn to my sister pointing my finger at her, “And if I find out YOU are, I will personally kick your ass.”
“I’m not I swear,” Nora says quickly looking scared shitless.
“Liz you better not be either. You have your entire lives ahead of you, the last thing you want is to get pregnant,” I tell her as I walk into the bathroom.
“Shit,” I mumble to myself. Thinking back on last night and today, Parker and I had sex so many times that eventually we stopped thinking about condoms.
“Not to worry, you’re on the pill,” I try to tell myself. I grab my cosmetic bag off the counter so I can take my pill for the day, only to realize I don’t have them. “Fuck.”
“Are you okay Nat?” my sister asks from the other side of the bathroom door.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” I tell her.
I can’t be pregnant right? I mean, yeah I didn’t take my pill for a day or two, but my body’s used to the pill, so it wouldn’t stop working that fast, would it?
I am not worrying about it. I’m not pregnant, not yet, not until I’m ready.
I snap out of my funk and finish getting ready for tonight. The girls and I grab something to eat before going to the show tonight.
“Are you staying with Parker again tonight?” my sister asks curiously.
“Probably, but we’re leaving early tomorrow morning.”
“How early?” Liz asks.
“Around 6-6:30 a.m.”
“Why so early?” Nora whines.
“Because tomorrow is Sunday and it’s a long drive. Remember, you guys have school Monday morning,” I say reminding them.
“We can miss it,” Liz says, like it’s no big deal.
“No, you missed Friday. I told your mom you’ll be back on Sunday.” I’m starting to wonder if Liz is a bad influence on Nora. I can’t have that; I already have enough on my plate.
We finish eating and head to the arena to watch the guys again. I was surprised when the girls said they wanted to go both nights, but they are teenagers so I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised.
We have our passes for tonight, so we head right in and go to similar spots that we had last night. The arena isn’t too full yet, and it’s cool to see how big the place is without so many people.
About thirty minutes later, the place is packed and we are once again squished. The girls seem to be having fun, so it’s worth it. I haven’t seen my sister smile so such in a long time.
The opening band starts and they are good again, they seem to have a smaller fan base though. The crowd doesn’t seem as into them as they were yesterday. Hopefully, that’s not the case for King Dread.
Finally, King Dread is up and they seem to have more fans tonight than last night. The crowd’s screams are rough on the ears, but I’m happy, the guys deserve it. Hopefully the crowd isn’t screaming like this the entire time, I’m not sure I can stand it. I won’t be able to hear for days, I’m sure.
Parker starts talking to the crowd and they somehow get louder. When Parker starts to sing the crowd turns it down a notch to hear him, Thank God.
I can’t get over how hot he looks on stage. I mean he’s gorgeous all the time, but he looks so alive, so fresh up on that stage.
There’s numerous times throughout their set that he looks my way and winks or stares at me, singing to me in the microphone. My sister thinks it’s so sweet. The ladies around us all think he’s doing it to them or for them, but I know better.
When their set is over, the guys say goodnight to the crowd of ferocious women and men and head off stage.
Parker sent me a text telling me to wait until the security guard comes to get me.
About forty minutes go by when I see two guys walking towards me. I do a double take and realize its Parker and Declan, in the crowd of screaming fans, but they don’t notice them. They are incognito.
“Hey baby,” Park says as he wraps his arms around me from behind and kisses me.
“You shouldn’t be out here,” I whisper to him, hoping no one around us hears me.
“Could you tell it was me?” he asks.
“I did a double take and yes I could,” I whisper back, nervous for both him and Declan. They didn’t bring any security with them.
“That’s just because you know me, but even you had to do a double take. I figured you would want to see the rest of the show because you didn’t get too yesterday. Plus, we can hang out with Nora too,” he says sweetly.
See…pretty freaking amazing.
Just then my sister turns and her face lights up, I hold my finger up to my mouth to make a shhh sounds so she doesn’t squeal and ruin their cover.
She starts talking to Parker, telling him how awesome he sounded and how excited she is to see him, yadda, yadda, yadda.
When she brought my clothes to me earlier, he was on the phone, so she didn’t get to talk to him.
She introduces Liz to him and she looks completely star struck. It’s funny.
“It’s nice to see you, hopefully next time you can actually hang out with all of us, instead of being stuck in a hotel room all day,” Declan says to me with a laugh.
I can feel my face burn. “Sorry, definitely next time. You guys sounded amazing,” I say through another whisper.
“Thanks,” he says.
“Are you having fun touring?”
“Yeah, but I’m not gonna lie, I miss home. Don’t get me wrong it’s great seeing all the fans, but it’s not the same,” he says, looking a little homesick.
“Well, you can come back at any time,” I tell him with a smile, “You only have a few more months of the tour anyway right?”
He looks at me and then glances at Parker and then back to me quickly with a look on his face.
“What’s wrong?” I ask confused.
“You didn’t tell her?” Declan says to Parker looking pissed.
“Tell me what?” I ask even more confused.
“I didn’t get the chance dickhead, we only found out twenty minutes before we went on stage,” he says with an angry look.
“What are you two talking about?” I say looking between the two of them.
“I’ll tell you later babe, let’s just enjoy the show,” he says as he stands behind me and wraps his arms around me pulling me tightly against his chest.
I glance at Declan who has a sympathetic look, but doesn’t say anything.
Parker will tell me in time. I lay my head back onto his chest and watch the show as he holds me.
Once the show is about over, we sneak out, following Declan and Parker and head backstage.
Nora and Liz are bouncing up and down excitedly to be backstage. They get their pictures taken with the different bands and start posting crazily on the social media sites.
“We ready to go?” Parker asks us.
“I am,” I say tiredly.
“No yawning woman, I’m not done with you yet,” he whispers into my ear.
I only nod my head in understanding.
“Can we go out somewhere?” Nora asks.
“Where? It’s almost midnight now,” I state looking at my watch.
“I don’t know, anywhere,” she says hopeful.
“We already toured the town, and you gotta get up really early tomorrow. I think it’s time for bed,” I state.
“Ugh fine,” she complains.
We head back to the hotel and Parker and I make sure they are in their room before we head back to our room for the night.
As tired as I am, I can catch up on sleep in the next couple days. No way am I missing any quality time with my man.
As soon as the do
or is shut, Parker starts to talk, “Okay, so Nat there’s something I need to tell you,” he says in a worried tone.
“What?” I ask curiously.
“You know how this tour ends in three months,” he says and I nod my head, “well we were asked to join another tour after this one.”
“Park that’s amazing,” I say as a wrap my arms around him, excited for the news.
“Babe, that means I’ll be gone even longer,” he says, piercing me with his beautiful dark green eyes.
“This is your dream. We’ve been doing the distance thing for a while, what are a few more months,” I tell him.
“It would be ten more months Nat. It already sucks, I barely see you now,” he states.
“So…what are you saying?” I ask confused and getting a bad feeling.
“I’m saying I won’t be home for a year from now,” he says, staring me in the eyes.
“Alright, so what…you want to break-up so you won’t have anything to worry about?” I ask frustrated and hating to hear the answer I feel is coming.
“No babe, that’s not what I’m saying. It’s not fair to you. The rumors, the tabloids, it’s not right or fair to you, so I’m giving you an out if you want it,” he says softly.
“I don’t want out,” I say confidently.
“Are you sure? They can be relentless,” he says, holding my face so I have no choice but to look him in the eyes.
“I’m sure Parker. I’ve dealt with it this long, what’s another year?” I state, staring into his gorgeous eyes.
“Thank God,” he says as he meshes his lips to mine. After a few seconds he pulls back, “There’s probably something else I should tell you,” he says looking really nervous.
“Are you alright, you’re looking a little pale?” I ask worriedly.
“Shit, I’m fine, it’s just not how I saw this going,” he says pacing back and forth.
“Saw what going?” I ask confused again.
He stops and stands right in front of me, holding both sides of my face, looking directly into my eyes, “Natalie, I should have told you months ago, but the chicken shit in me didn’t. You are one of the best things that have happened to me in a long time. I knew before I left to come on this tour how I felt and I should have told you. I’m sorry,” he says.
“Sorry for what?” I cut in, confused and worried.
He chuckles, “Babe I’m in love with you. Stop thinking crazy thoughts right now. I can see the wheels turning in your pretty blonde head,” he says surprising the hell out of me.
“Y…You love me?” I ask wanting to hear him say it again so I know it’s real.
“Yes Nat, I’m very much in love with you,” he says, as he leans down and kisses me.
As he’s kissing me, I can’t help but get emotional. As afraid as I was to tell him, he told me.
Parker.Thomas.Loves.Me.
I feel my eyes fill up and a tear escapes and slip down my cheek.
Parker pulls back, “Baby, why are you crying?” he says as he wipes my tears away.
“I’m happy,” I now say through a few tears, “I love you too Parker, so much.” Then I grab his face and kiss him senseless.
Parker spends the next few hours making love to me, making me scream out his name numerous times.
Yes, I definitely love this man.
The next morning comes way too fast and it’s time to say goodbye and head home.
Parker and the guys are leaving at 6:30 a.m. and I figured I would be up with him anyway, so we might as well head out at the same time.
I finish stuffing all of our crap into my trunk and close it. Nora and Liz are talking to Declan, Luke, and Nate.
“Do you have everything?” Park asks from behind me.
“I do now,” I say as I wrap my arms around his waist, “I’m going to miss you.”
“I know, I’m going to miss you too babe, but we get to see each other in two weeks,” he says softly as he hugs me tight and kisses the top of my head.
“I will be there,” I say with a smile as I lean back to look up into his gorgeous green eyes.
“I love you Nat,” he says as he leans down and kisses me sweetly.
“I love you too Park. Thirteen months,” I say excitedly.
He laughs, “Thirteen months, then you’re all mine,” he says with an intense look.
“Can’t wait,” I say with a smile.
“Okay lover boy we need to go, sorry Nat,” Declan says pulling us out of our fantasy world.
“I hear you,” Park states back.
“I love you and I’ll text you. Call me when you get home so I know you guys made it safely,” he says as he leans in and kisses me again.
“Love you too and I will, I promise,” I say through a giggle.
We finally pull apart and say our goodbyes; me heading home, Parker heading to their next city.
Thirteen.Months.
The drive home is the longest drive ever. Nora and Liz continuously talk about the pictures they have with the different bands, how hot the guys are, how jealous their friends are going to be, you name it, they talked about it, laughed about it, and screamed about it. Again…longest drive ever.
When we finally do get home, we drop off Liz and then head home. It’s almost 4:00 p.m. and I’m exhausted.
I shoot a quick text to Park to let him know I’m home safe and sound and to keep me posted on when they reach their next destination.
He responds saying he will keep me posted, that he’s going to get some sleep.
Sleep sounds good right now.
Chapter Six
Monday morning comes and I’m not ready for it. I get Nora up and get her off to school and then rush around the house getting ready and heading out for class.
I should have skipped today.
“Hey, how was your weekend?” I hear from Harper, who I hardly ever run into on campus.
“Hey, it was good. Shouldn’t you be in class?” I ask curiously.
“I should, but I wanted to see how your weekend went, so fill me in,” she says with a smile.
“The weekend went great. Got to hang out with Parker all weekend and watch them in concert Friday and Saturday.”
“I’m still mad you didn’t invite me,” she says with a glare.
“You’re coming along in two weeks,” I say with a laugh.
“Oh yes, about that…Tucker may not be coming now,” she says looking a little frustrated.
“Everything alright?”
“It will be when he tells me what the hell is going on,” she says angrily.
“I’m sure it’s nothing, but whatever, we will still have fun,” I say trying to lighten the mood.
“Damn straight we will. So, how’s your relationship?” she asks, almost like she knows something.
“It’s great, he’s great, we’re great,” I say with biggest, dumbest smile on my face.
“Did you tell him how you feel?” she says calling me out.
“What?” I ask shocked.
“You love him, it’s obvious so did you tell him?” she says questioningly.
“I did, but not until after he told me,” I say excitedly.
“Seriously? He told you he loves you?” she says practically yelling.
“Shh, yes he told me,” I say enthusiastically.
“You know he loved you before he left to go on tour right?” she says like it’s nothing.
“No, not until he told me yesterday,” I say piercing her with a look, “How did you know?”
“The boy stares at you, even when you’re sitting right beside him. The way he treats you, it’s obvious to everyone,” she says, like I should already knew.
“Wow, why didn’t you tell me this before?”
“I figured you already knew. Tucker pointed it out shortly after we came back from Virginia. I don’t know how I didn’t see it, Park’s so obvious about it,” she says with a laugh.
“Well, I know now, so all is good,” I say smiling.
> “Lucky for you, you don’t have to wait too much longer to have him home,” she says happily.
“Actually, I do. They are going on another tour when this one ends, so he won’t be home for a long time,” I say solemnly.
“That’s awesome for them, but I’m sorry for you Nat. I know it must be hard. Shit, Tuck’s here and he still frustrates and pisses me off, but I’d miss the hell out of him,” she says with a smile.
“It is, but it’s his dream and I support him. Things will all work out,” I say truthfully.
“They will. You two are great together,” she says kindly.
“Thanks Harp. So what are you doing with the rest of your day since you’re skipping class?”
“I have another class this afternoon, and then I’m working tonight. How about you?”
“I work tonight too. I guess I will see you there then,” I say, as I look at the time and see my next class is coming up.
“Sounds good. We’ll I’m gonna grab some food, I’ll see you tonight,”
“Alright, see ya,” I say as I walk off towards my next class.
The week passes by in a blur and now I’m counting down the days until I get to see Parker again. I have four days to get through. Classes can’t get over fast enough this week. The drive won’t be too bad since Harp’s going along. She’s not sure if Tucker’s going yet. He’s definitely been acting strange for the past few weeks, but I can’t figure out why. Not like I would really know anyway, we aren’t that close.
I work tonight and there’s a new band playing, hopefully they’re good.
“I would steer clear of Harper tonight,” Davie says as I enter the main door.
“Why?” I ask curiously.
“She’s in a pretty shitty mood,” he says.
“Did something happen?”
“No idea,” he says with a shrug.
I head inside say hi to some fellow coworkers and then head behind the bar to where I see an irate looking Harper.
“Hey,” I say to her.
She just nods her head in my direction and continues to stock the cooler.
“What happened?” I ask as I approach her.
She comes out of the cooler and her face is red, I’m talking fireball red. “My boyfriend is an asshole.”
“What did he do?” I ask her quietly.
“It’s what he didn’t do,” she snaps.
